Asst Commr seriously injured in road accident

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, Jan 6 (UNI) An Assistant Commissioner of Police was seriously injured in a road accident at Mambakkam village near Sriperumbudur on the Chennai-Bangalore Highway, early today.

Police said Mr Narayanan, working in Avadi near Chennai, was driving to Kancheepuram when his car suddenly rammed into the road divider.

The officer, who suffered severe injuries on his head, hands and jaw, was admitted to a private hospital in Sriperumbudur.

He was on his way to Varadarajaperumal Temple in Kancheepuram to offer worship when the accident occurred, sources added.
