AR helps earn a living for Manipuri villagers

Imphal, Jan 06 (UNI) The Assam Rifles (AR) in Manipur are helping to earn the villagers a livelihood by imparting vocational trainings, the AR PRO said here today.

The 32 Assam Rifles runs a composite Vocational Training Centre (VTC) at Keithelmanbi for the youths and children of the surrounding villages.

The training includes, computers, stitching, weaving and candle making, sources said.

The VTC had also hepled in providing employment opportunities to the village youths by appointing them as the training staff.

Presently, 28 students were undergoing training at the centre.

The products made by these people would be sold in the market, the PRO said.
