APWA demands seats in corpn elections

Rajahmundry, Jan 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Washermen Rajakas Development Association (APWA) today demanded the Congress allocate three seats to Rajakas in the ensuing Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation elections.

Addressing newspersons here, APWA Chairman M Anjiah said there were 28,000 Rajakas in the town whose social conditions were not up to the mark for many years.

The Congress which had rolled out many welfare schemes to the Rajakas should allot three seats to them in the ensuing municipal elections.

The APWA with 55 lakh members would support Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Rajasekhara Reddy in the controversial land issue.
