9-yr-old raped by cousin in Bhaderwah, Doda

Jammu, Jan 6 (UNI) A nine-year-old girl was raped today by her cousin at Bhaderwah in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police sources said.

The victim, who had been to her maternal aunt's house to exchange 'Eidi' at Malothi village, was raped by her 28-year-old cousin Safdar Ahmed, sources said.

''He (Safdar Ahmed) had asked me to bring a glass of water in his room and forcibly committed the crime. I cried for help but all (relatives) were in fields,'' the victim narrated before mediapersons and doctors in the hospital.

The accused was later arrested after the doctors at Bhaderwah Sub-District Hospital confirmed the rape.
