5 policemen suspended over theft in PHq
Bhopal, Jan 6 (UNI) Five police personnel, including a Company Commander of the Special Armed Force, were suspended for their alleged laxity as a 'Chandan' tree was mysteriously felled and stolen from the police headquarters here on Thursday night.
Police sources today said few Chandan trees were among several species of plants and trees planted at the sprawling premises of the PHq and one of it was felled by unidentified assailants.
Company Commander Jagmohan Singh Rawat, Assistant Platoon Commander R N Markam and three Havildars were suspended for laxity.
In the past few months, thefts of Chandan trees were reported at the official residences of few ministers and bureaucrats in the state capital.
