3 arrested for circulating fake notes

Hubli, Jan 6 (UNI) Police have arrested three people in connection with a counterfeit currency racket and seized Rs 12,000 worth fake notes from them.

Police said that acting on a tip off, Haveri police waylaid a motorcycle on which the trio was riding and arrested them yesterday.

During interrogation, they confessed to circulating fake notes in Rs 100 denomination.

The arrested were Somashekaraiah Salimath (60), Praveenkumar Gonalmath (24) and Raghavendra Madiwalar (26).
