Yediyurappa sees conspiracy behind case on Pejavar seer
Bangalore, Jan 5 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today alleged that there was a conspiracy behind filing of a criminal case against Sri Visvesha Thirtha Swamiji of the Udupi Pejavar Mutt.
Speaking to newspersons here, he regretted that a pontiff, who had dedicated his entire life to spirituality for over six decades, had been charged with attempt to murder. It was unimaginable and reflected attempts to malign his name, he felt.
Mr Yediyurappa said he spoke to Director General of Police K R Srinivasan and instructed him to investigate the matter to get at the truth.
Action would be taken against the complainant if the charges were found to be untrue, he added.
He appealed to the devotees of the seer to maintain peace as the police were engaged in finding the motivation behind filing of such a complaint.
He might call on the seer soon, he hinted.
