We are the real MDMK: Rebel leaders

Chennai, Jan 5 (UNI) Marumalarchi DMK (MDMK) Rebel Leaders Gingee Ramachandran and L Ganesan today reiterated they were the real MDMK and would prove it at the appropriate time before the appropriate authority.

Addressing the press here, the MDMK leaders said they removed Mr Vaiko as the party's General Secretary and elected Mr Gingee Ramachandran in his place during General Council convened by them on December 29 at Salem. This was conveyed to the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Denying Mr Vaiko's claim those who attended the General Council convened by them were not the actual MDMK General Council members and were sponsored by the ruling DMK, the rebel leaders categorically denied allowing anybody other than the actual members to attend the meeting.

Mr Vaiko's charge was baseless and such allegations were aimed at diverting the partymen, they claimed.
