Two homosexuals commit suicide
Khargone, MP, Jan 5 (UNI) Lovers' suicide pacts are common place but two 18-year-old homosexual tribal women in love have killed themselves in this district.
According to the police, Gomti Bhilala of the Dankheda village and Mamta of the neighbouring Nankoda village fell in love with each other and were allegedly living together as a couple.
Gomti dressed in pants and shirts. The duo had informed their families of their desire to marry. However, social stigma and their relatives' annoyance led the women to consume poisonous substances at their homes yesterday.
They were rushed to seperate government hospitals where they succumbed.
The families have denied their being homosexuals, although villagers said the women often exchanged love letters.
