Traffic management plan for 2010 CWG formulated
New Delhi, Jan 05: Delhi Traffic Police has launched preliminary work for maintaining traffic during the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
A traffic management plan had been formulated for implementation during the games, Delhi Police Commissioner told mediapersons in the force's annual press conference here today.
Meetings had been held with a private consultant company, appointed by the Commonwealth Games Committee, for preparing venue briefs of each stadium, he said.
Essential inputs on issues of traffic management, parking and traffic circulation in and around various stadium have been provided, he added.
Traffic police had already identified routes to be used by sportspersons/officials from airport to games village, from games village to stadiums, from one stadium to others, and to important hotels and city centre.
Additional parkings had also been identified for all stadiums.
Similarly, 'park and ride' sites had been identified.
