Sourav should open with Sachin in ODI: Snehashis
Kolkata, Jan 5 (UNI) Even as India slumped to 169 all out in the second innings in Cape Town, with a sparkling 46 from Sourav Ganguly, elder brother Snehashis today said the former Team India skipper should get back the opener's slot in the ODIs .
Talking to the media in the sidelines of the CAB working committee meeting, Snehashis said, ''Sourav is playing very well now. He should get back into the shorter version of the game and open along with Sachin Tendulkar.'' ''However, if the Virender Sehwag-Sachin pair is retained at the top, he should get the number four slot. In the Tests coming down at number six was okay. I am happy with the way he is playing,'' he said.
The elder Ganguly was happy that his brother showed both temperament and form on his return under trying circumstances.
Sourav himself was under pressure to perform as he was making a comeback after 10 months. India got a shot in the arm when Sourav's fine 60 plus score in the first Test set the pattern for India's first Test victory in South Africa.
With the exception of one innings, Sourav had notched up good runs in the Tests and has emboldened his claims of returning to the ODI side too.
