Six ULFA militants held in Asom

Kokrajhar, Jan 5 (UNI) Six ULFA militants were arrested in this district of Asom last evening following an encounter with the Army.

Army sources informed today that on a tip off, a group of Army personnel had waited for the ULFA cadres near Hell river on NH 31, under the Kachugaon police station.

As the vehicle with militants approached, the Army opened fire and in the ensuing gun battle, a few militants managed to escape while six were apprehended.

One revolver, one pistol, a single round of ammunition, incriminating documents, Rs 1560 in cash and fake Indian currencies of Rs 1,000 denomination were recovered from them.
