Shiv Sena and MNS activists clash in Thane

Thane, Jan 5: Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists clashed with each other at a function late last evening here.

The incident occurred at a symposium organised by a leading Marathi daily there as part of the election fever.

MNS leader, Shishir Shinde and a former member of the Shiv Sena, made derocatory remarks against Shiv Sena annoying the sainiks present at the venue. When he did not refrain from continuing with his provocative speech, the sainiks bashed up Shinde.

Meanwhile, MNS activists present at the venue attacked the sainiks in retaliation.

Following the incident, both the parties filed counter complaints against each other. No arrests have been made so far.
