RAdm Aroume first 'Principal' of Ezhimala Naval Academy

Kochi, Jan 5 (UNI) Rear Admiral Andre Aroume took charge as the first 'Principal' of the Ezhimala Naval Academy in Kannur District.

According to an official release here today, RAdm Aroume took charge on January one. The prime task would be to get the B Tech syllabus for cadets joining the Naval Academy under (10+2) Scheme recognized by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi and get approval of the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

He was the first officer of the education branch to be promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral in the Indian Navy.

Commissioned in 1974 after his post graduation from Presidency College in Chennai, he specialised in Navigation and Direction and is an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and College of Defence Management, Secunderabad.
