Police station attacked, one injured in J

Srinagar, Jan 5 (UNI) Militants attacked a police station, shot at and wounded one person while security forces busted a hideout in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, official sources said.

They said panic gripped the area when militants hurled a grenade towards the police station building. However, it did not explode after missing the intended target.

Later, a bomb disposal squad was summoned which defused the live grenade.

Sources said in another incident, a group of militants entered the house of one Noor Mohammad Charrah at Rajouri Kadal this afternoon.

Later, they fired upon Charrah with a pistol before escaping from the spot.

The injured was admitted to hospital in a critical condition.

Security forces busted a hideout at Dugli woods in Doda district of Jammu region last night and recovered one UBGL shell, one Chinese grenade, two magazine and 51 rounds of ammunition. However, no one was arrested.
