Nitish exhorts BCC to co-operate in development

Patna, Jan 5 (UNI) Laying emphasis on people oriented development with a human face, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today urged the industrialists to co-operate in the mission.

After inaugurating the 79th annual function of Bihar Chamber of Commerce(BCC), Mr Kumar here said,''The state is moving forward on developmental track using its own resources.'' However, he mentioned that no additional allocation had been made for Bihar.

Mr Kumar said his government was committed for "people-oriented development" and financial condition of the deprived should be improved. He requested the industrialists to discharge their responsilibilties.

Mr Kumar lambasted the statements of the Union Ministers from state, regarding huge financial assistance to Bihar.

He outrightly rejected any additional allocation to the state which got only its due share.

Mr Kumar made a dig at one of the Union Ministers, who had recently stated about non-utilisation of funds, saying the funds were being properly utilised.

He also alleged that the Centre was not giving green signal to the National Highway Development Project(NHDP) of the project, under which 890 KM National Highways would be repaired.

He made a counter attack at the Centre saying that the funds of the Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yojana, which directly goes to the Panchayats by the Centre through its agencies, was not spent.
