Nithari killings a national shame, says Advani

Indore, Jan 5: Senior BJP leader and former deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today described Nithari killings as a ''shameful incident'' for the country and stressed on the need for an inquiry by the CBI into the case.

Talking to reporters at the airport here, he said police did not woke up to the crime even though the number of children going missing had been steadily uncreasing.

''It is a heart-rending incident that skeletals were recovered one after other from the spot,'' he said.

Noting that it was not proper to view the incident with a political angle, the BJP leader said an inquiry by an independent agency was required.

Mr Advani said the law, order, violence and 'gundaraj' would be the main poll planks in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
