Naxal killed in encounter

Jagdalpur, Jan 5 (UNI) A Naxal was neutralised in an encounter with security forces personnel near Gomodi village in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district today, the police said.

Rebels made a futile attempt to trigger a landmine targeting a patrol. Retaliatory action slew an extremist identified as Korsamuda village-resident Raj Mandawi.

A truck, a gun and cartridges were seized.
