Meghalaya Guv concerned at recent blasts

Shillong, Jan 5 (UNI) Meghalaya Governor M M Jacob has expressed serious concern at the recent blasts in the state.

''Meghalaya has been a relatively peaceful state and Shillong, the capital city, is an embodiment of that peace where all sections of people coexist harmoniously and live in dignity,'' Mr Jacob said.

He said miscreants have now disrupted the image and good name of the capital city and the state through the recent blasts and have attempted to create mistrust and disharmony among the peace loving people of Meghalaya.

Fortunately, he said, there have been no fatalities but innocent victims have suffered due to irresponsible action of thoughtless miscreants.

Urging the state government and the people to be vigilant against such undesirable elements, the governor sought people's cooperation and serious efforts of all concerned to identify and nab the culprits.
