Lawyers attack Hindi daily's Allahabad office

Allahabad, Jan 5 (UNI) A group of lawyers today barged into the local office of the Hindi daily Amar Ujala and damaged computers, besides misbehaving with its employees.

The lawyers were irate over a news item published today on the front page of the newspaper about the formation of a Circuit Bench of the Allahabad High Court in western Uttar Pradesh.

The daily's office is located on Mahatama Gandhi Marg here.

The lawyers damaged two computers and other accessories and also misbehaved with and abused the employees present there.

On receiving the information, police, PAC and the Rapid Action Force were deployed at the office.

Meanwhile, Allahabad News Reporters Club has condemned the attack Political parties and social organisations have also condemned this act by the lawyers.
