Kuwait to introduce legislation on blacklisted expatriates

Dubai, Jan 5 (UNI) Kuwait is planning to introduce legislation that would allow airlines to access information on blacklisted expatriates so that they could be denied tickets to fly into the oil-rich kingdom.

The interior ministry would work out the programme in coordination with the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation, Al-Watan Arabic daily reported.

The paper quoted a ministry source as saying the names of those who would not be allowed into the country would be posted on its website.

Airlines have been asked to access the website to see if a person is blacklisted before issuing the ticket.

Persons banned from entering Kuwait would be deported on the same aircraft that brought them, and the airliner would have to bear the expenses.
