Jalandhar shivers at minus 2.2 degree celsius

Jalandhar, Jan 5: People in Jalandhar groaned under intense cold wave as Adampur airport recorded the minimum temperature at minus -2.2 degree celsius for the second successive day today, an official spokesman, quoting the Air Force Met Centre data, said.

He said most parts of Punjab were reeling under a severe cold wave with Amritsar recording low temperature of 0.3 degrees celsius, Ludhiana (Halwara Airport) 1.8 degrees celsius and Pathankot 1.2 degrees celsius this morning.

The cold wave conditions are likely to continue unabated during the next 2 days, the spokesman added.
