Jairam Ramesh inaugurates Pylon in AP

Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 5 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh today inaugurated a mega Pylon to immortalise and preserve for posterity the battle fought between Cholas and Pallavas at Thondamanadu near here.

Mr Ramesh, who arrived at Renigunta airport from Hyderabad on a two-day visit to Srikalahasti and Tirupati, earlier laid foundation stone for S R Sankaran at Lake Garden here.

Later, he offered worship to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala After night halt at the hilltop, the minister will lay the foundation stone for Vapour Heat Treatment plant(VHTP) at Agriculture Market Yard near Tirupati.

Before leaving for Delhi, the Commerce Minister will attend a one-day Meet for Mango crop farmers at TTD Mahathi Auditorium in Tirupati.

A large number of mango farmers from Rayalaseema and Nellore district were expected to take part in the meet.
