IIMB-Stanford Business School sign Student Exchange Programme
Bangalore, Jan 5 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIMB) today signed an MoU with the Stanford Graduate School of Business (SGSB), one of the premier business schools in the world, to launch an exchange programme starting next academic year.
The programme envisaged exchange of 20 students and working together in three core aspects -- academics, business and social activities, IIMB Director Prakash G Apte told reporters after signing the MoU with SGSB Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs John Roberts at the institute here.
IIMB already had a vibrant student exchange programme with schools in North America, Europe and Asia. Such programmes had proved popular with the students, with more than half of every batch taking part in it, he said.
Mr Roberts said this was the second exchange programme for SGSB, after a similar partnership with the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
''In recognition of the growing importance of managing across cultures in a global economy, this initiative will provide for unique cross-cultural learning of business and management in the US and India,'' Mr V Srinivasan, the Adams Distinguished Professor of Management at SGSB, who initiated the programme, said.
''We expect this programme of hosting and exchange to foster strong, life-long relationships between future business leaders both in India and America,'' Mr G Shainesh, Associate Professor of Marketing, IIMB, said.
