Honda Siel hikes prices across all models
New Delhi, Jan 5: Premium car manufacturer Honda Siel Cars India has announced a hike of 1-1.2 per cent in the prices of its City, Civic and Accord models.
While six models of City and Civic models will cost more from tomorrow, the company said increase in the price of Accord will be announced shortly as a new model is expected soon.
''The reasons (for the price hike) are obvious. Input costs have been rising steadily for the past two years, but we have not passed them on to the customer. At Honda, we don't like to disturb the prices of products after launch and have absorbed the increase in input costs so far. But now we have to pass on some of the cost increase to the customer,'' HSCI Senior General Manager (Marketing) Jnaneshwar Sen said.
The City ZX Exi will now cost Rs 5,241 more at Rs 6,75,000, while the prices of ZX Gxi and ZX CVT models have been revised by about Rs 8,250. The City ZX VTEC has been priced at Rs 7,98,000, up by Rs 8,481.
The prices of Civic MT and Civic AT have been raised by Rs 12,801 (1.1 per cent).
This is the first price increase by HSCI in two years.
