Hindustan Construction signs up Starwood to manage properties

New Delhi, Jan 5 (UNI) Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC) today announced it has appointed US-based Starwood Hotels and Resorts International to manage two hotel properties within its upcoming Lavasa township near Pune.

The first of the two properties is a 250-room luxury hotel with a 1,50,000 square feet convention centre, which will be developed by HCC in technical collaboration with Starwood on a five acre plot.

The other one is a 250-room resort, spread across eight acres.

''The technical and management expertise of Starwood will enable us to provide world-class facilities at Lavasa. With their vast global experience of managing world-class convention centres and resorts around the world, Starwood brings both international best practices as well as a stellar track record,'' Lavasa Chief Executive Officer Nicholas Bashkiroff said.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc, with nearly 850 properties in more than 95 countries and 1,45,000 employees, is a fully integrated owner, operator and franchisor of hotels and resorts with brands such as St RegisR, The Luxury Collection, Sheraton, Westin, Sheraton, Le Meridien and the recently announced Aloft and Element.
