Goa Cabinet okays scrutinisation of Regional Plan
Panaji, Jan 5: Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane today informed that the State Cabinet has agreed to have the controversial Goa Regional Plan 2011 scrutinised and to keep its implementation in abeyance.
Speaking to reporters after the Cabinet meeting, Mr Rane said the Regional Plan 2001 will continue till the new plan is okayed.
Asked whether Town and Country Planning Minister Atanasio Monserrate's resignation has been accepted, the Chief Minister said he will meet Governor S C Jamir today and the media will know about the decision soon.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister, referring to the large-scale illegal felling of trees, said stringent action will be taken against those found violating the forest rules.
The Chief Minister has issued strict guidlines to the forest officials to keep a close vigil.
The Government will also take strict action against those found violating the CRZ rules, he added.
