Four Congress leaders join SAD (Badal)
Chandigarh, Jan 5 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) today got shot in the arm with four Congress leaders joining the party ahead of the Punjab assembly elections to be held on February 13.
Welcoming the Congress leaders into SAD fold, party President Prakash Singh Badal today said they will be accorded due respect.
Those who joined the SAD are PEPSU Township Development Board Chairman and three time MLA from Patiala and Rajpura Mr Prem Gupta, former Member of Parliament from Sangrur Gurcharan Singh Dadahoor, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Mohali Dictrict president Pritam Singh Gill.
On the occassion, Mr Badal told media persons that Chief Minister Amarinder Singh instead of concentrating on development of the state, devoted his entire time and machinery to send the Badal family behind bars.
Mr Badal said on January 8th, his party would submit memorandum to Election Commissioner about the transfer of certain officials, who are hand in glove with the ruling Congress party.
