Exercise department conducts raid in AP

Rajahmundry, Jan 5 (UNI) Excise and Prohibition department here in the last three days conducted raids in Rajahmundry area and yielded seizure worth Rs 15 lakh, according to P Surya Rao, Superintendent, in-charge.

Mr Rao said 30 people were arrested so far.

He said in December, the department had achieved more than the target figure of Rs 9.66 crore. The continuous raids were showing good results, he added.

He said Road Transport authority officials were urged to assist in impounding the vehicles without number plates.
