Don't compromise national interest: BJP warns govt
New Delhi, Jan 5: The BJP today said the concerns expressed by Atomic Energy Commission chairman Anil Kakodkar over the Indo-US Nuclear Deal vindicated its stand that the Government was compromising national interest while negotiating with the US on the deal.
''The concerns expressed by the Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission Anil Kakodkar that the Hyde Act passed by US legislatures definitely hurts India's strategic Nuclear capability, vindicates BJP's stand on the issue,'' BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said in a statement.
Cautioning the Government against compromising national interest while negotiating the final deal, the BJP asked the Government not to proceed on the negotiations if any detrimental provisions were forced in the deal.
