Deadline for online registration of shops extended to Jan 15
New Delhi, Jan 5 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi today extended to January 15 the deadline for online registration of shops in the capital.
The extension of the deadline, which earlier expired today, by the MCD came after the permission of the Supreme Court in the matter.
This is the second extension of the deadline. The Supreme Court had earlier fixed the last date for online registration of small shops in residential areas dealing in 24 permissible items and measuring not more than 20 sq m as well as those in notified areas up to December 31. The date was further extended by the Monitoring Committee up to January 5.
So far, nearly 2.75 lakh traders and others have got themselves registered with the MCD.
Meanwhile, the MCD today sealed 341 units in Sadar Paharganj, Shahdara (South), Najafgarh, West and Civil Lines zones.
Of these, 128 units were sealed at Gulabi Bagh (Sanjay Nagar Road) falling in Sadar Paharganj Zone. In Shahdara (South) Zone, 113 units were sealed at I P Extension while in Najafgarh Zone, 52 units were sealed at Dhansa Road, 29 units were sealed at Shivaji Enclave falling in West Zone. The rest 19 units were sealed at Malka Ganj in Civil Lines Zone.
With today's sealing, the number of units sealed by the MCD since the resumption of the drive on November 8 as per orders of the Supreme Court is 4339.
