Dalits take out procession in Kolar
Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka, Jan 5 (UNI) Hundreds of activists of the Karnataka Dalitha Sangarsha Samithi today took out a huge procession in Kolar in support of their demands, which included checking of atrocities against Dalits.
The procession was taken out through the main thoroughfares of the town from Nachiketha Nilaya to the Deputy Commissioner's Office.
The agitators presented a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Anjum Parvez, seeking the Government to initiate steps to protect Dalits and provide them lands for taking up agricultural activities.
The agitators also demanded action against the Circle Inspector of Sidlgataa police station for failing to protect the interests of Dalits.
