Rajahmundry, Jan 5 (UNI) The CPI(M) Andhra Pradesh secretary B V Raghavulu today demanded that a special Commission of Inquiry be set up to go into the land issues pertaining to Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to bring out the truth. whether the lands were surpluses, assigned or actually bought by his father.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the Commission should inquire whether the lands were surplus, asigned or actually purchased by Chief Minister's father.

Stating that the commission should be headed by persons sans politics and government officials, he said it should also be given powers to enquire into land holdings by legislators.

Alleging that Chief Minister was 'cheating' the people on the land issue, he said the recent amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Land Reforms (ceiling on agricultural lands) Act were in contravention to the land committee recommendations.

He said his party cadres would prepare a mandalwise list to identify excess land holders.

Mr Raghavulu said the CPM would not align with any party in the corporation elections.
