CPI to oppose diversion of extra water to Rayalseema
Hyderabad, Jan 5 (UNI) The CPI today said it would oppose any decision by the government to divert additional water to Rayalaseema through the Pothireddipadu Head Regulator.
CPI State Secretary K Narayana in a statement said the party's policy was the river waters should be equally distributed to all the three regions -- Coastal, Rayalaseema and Telangana and utilisation of flood waters in a systematic manner.
He refuted TRS' charge the CPI was not interested in the welfare of the people of Hyderabad.
Mr Narayana said the the party would treat all regions in an equal manner without showing any partiality.
The government should draw the water through the Pothireddipadu Head Regulator as agreed at an all-party meeting. He said the party would definitely oppose any deviation from the commitment given by the government at the meeting.
