CM, JD (S) legislators leave for Amby valley

Bangalore, Jan 5 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy along with many legislators belonging to the Janata Dal (S), a coalition partner in Karnataka led by the CM, today left for Amby Valley near Pune for a three-day meeting aimed at reviving the prospects of the party.

The Chief Minister said JD(S) the government needed a climate that was conducive to take some ''special decisions'' in connection with strengthening the performance of the 10-month-old government.

''The purpose of the visit is to review the functioning of the government which would soon complete its one year,'' he told reporters before leaving by a chartered flight to Pune with 66 legislators.

Special emphasis would be given on the revival of the party and chalking out future programmes for the development of the state. A series of discussions with legislators would also come up during the session, he said.

Mr Kumaraswamy said decisions on the Cabinet expansion and appointments to the Boards and Corporations would be taken during the meeting.

He also appreciated police for arresting a terrorist in the city and said they would be appropriately honoured.
