BSNL launches new scheme

Rajkot, Jan 5 (UNI) The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched a new scheme 'Lo Kar Lo Baat' (LKLB), allowing the subscribers unlimited calls from any landline telephones to all landline and mobile phones of BSNL network of Gujarat at an additional cost of Rs 111 per month.

Addressing a news conference here today, the company's general manager Bal Krishnan said the scheme's main aim is to woo maximum subscribers in BSNL fold.

He said BSNL is also accepting the request from customer for change of plan to lower monthly charge.

The BSNL aims to compensate for the loss of revenue by increasing its subscriber base through new registration, reduction in disconnection and diversion from other private operators.

He said since the scheme was launched on December 18, there has been tremendous response to it in the Rajkot district as well as in the entire state.

He claimed that in a short span of ten days, as many as 45,000 customers in Rajkot have adopted the scheme and booking of new connection has also increased threefold, as the connectivity from landline to BSNL mobile is totally free in this scheme.

Mr Krishnan said to improve the network and coverage, BSNL plans to increase the number of mobile towers in the Rajkot distrit within two months.

In Morbi, the number of towers has been incresed from two to six, thus fully covering Morbi city, he claimed.

He said BSNL has reduced rates of 'One India Plan'. The rental has been decreased from Rs 225 to Rs 180 per month and free calls have been increased from 25 to 50.

To provide high speed data connectivity to its customers, BSNL (Rajkot) has started a broadband service in the industrial town of Lodhika, GIDC and Sapar. The service is already available in Rajkot and Gondal.

In addition to this, BSNL has offered attrative tariff from new year to its broadband customers by reudcing usage charge upto 35 per cent and doubling down load/up-load limit, he added.
