BSF jawan gets punch on face for demanding ID proof in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 5 (UNI) A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was at the receiving end as a youth dealt a hard punch in his face after the trooper allegedly abused him while demanding the identity card in Sopore area of Baramulla district.

According to reports received here today, BSF personnel stopped some youths for frisking near Ashpeer in Sopore town yesterday and also demanded identity card from them.

As a youth showed his identification proof to one of the personnel, the trooper allegedly abused him for having an old card.

''S....purana card kyon dikhaya....naya kyon nahin banate ho (...Why did you show an old card? Why don't you get a fresh one),'' the BSF personnel allegedly told the youth.

Enraged at the trooper's behaviour, the youth first yelled at him and then gave the personnel a hard punch in his face.

Soon after, blood started oozing from the BSF personnel's nose.

On seeing this, the youth fled from the scene, prompting the BSF troops to open several rounds of fire in the air, the reports said.
