Blast in Sri Lankan bus, casualties not known

COLOMBO, Jan 5 (Reuters) A blast ripped through a bus in western Sri Lanka today, the military said.

''There has been an explosion, the bus is burning,'' Major Upali Rajapaksa, an official in the media centre for national security, told Reuters.

He said there was no information yet on casualties from the blast in Nittambuwa.
