BJP will continue to oppose nuke deal: Advani

Indore, Jan 5 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Preme Minister L K Advani today said his party would continue to oppose the India-US civil nuclear deal.

''The nature of the treaty is such that, had it been inked earlier, India would not have been able to conduct either Pokhran I or II,'' he told reporters at the local airport while on a day's visit to Madhya Pradesh.

Alleging that the deal made it impossible to take the Pokhran series any further, Mr Advani added the BJP was against any joint strategy with Pakistan on either internal security, Kashmir or terrorism.

''That will be like the US and the al Qaeda managing a joint campaign against terrorism,'' he added.
