BJP dharnas over Congress stand on Telangana
Hyderabad, Jan 5 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Andhra Pradesh today staged dharnas in all Telangana districts protesting against AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh's statement that the Congress was committed to constituting a second States Reorganisation Commission for creation of separate statehood for Telangana.
BJP floor leader N Kishan Reddy and former General Secretary K Lakshman, other leaders and workers staged a dharna here demanding the Centre to introduce a bill in Parliament for separate Telangana.
Mr Lakshman said the Congress seeking an SRC was only to delay the process and cheated the people of Telangana. Party workers had staged dharnas in all districts in the Telangana region, he said.
The party would mobilise the people to press the government for early creation of Telangana and honour the people's sentiments.
