Ashok Leyland sales up by 30 per cent

Chennai, Jan 5 (UNI) Leading automobile manufacturer Ashok Leyland has registered an upward domestic sales of 30 per cent during 2006.

The company, in a release here today said 5,890 vehicles were sold during 2006, as against 4,544, the previous year, registering about 30 per cent increase.

The company also clocked an increase of 16 per cent in export business during 2006, the release said adding the cumulative domestic sales went up to 40 per cent during the same period.
