Abducted boy's body recovered from railway track

Surat, Jan 5 (UNI) The body of the abducted son of a diamond merchant in Navsari was recovered this morning from a railway track near Vijalore in Navasari district, Navsari police sources informed here today.

According to sources, Nayan (9), a fourth standard student of Sanskar Bharathi school and son of Hasmukh Kacharolia, a diamond trader working with a leading diamond firm in Surat and a resident of Nand Apartment in Shanta Devi Road in Navsari, was abducted yesterday from his school.

The abductors had demanded Rs 50 lakh as ransom amount.

The family of the boy received phone calls from Jalalpore area last night, after which the boy's parents approached Navsari police.

Police began an intense search operation after which boy's dead body was recovered from a railway track at Vijalpore, sources said.

According to sources yesterday afternoon, after his class, Nayan was standing at the portico of the school, waiting for the rikshaw to go back home.

At that time a youth approached him and told him that his father was waiting for him outside the school.

The youth then took Nayan towards a car outside the gate of the school, put him inside the car and disappeared.

Nayan's mother who contacted the school around 1230 hrs found that Nayan left the school earlier.

Meanwhile, Hasmukh Kachroliya received a phone call informing him that Nayan had been kidnapped and demanded Rs 50 lakhs for his release, sources said.

Khachroliya immediately informed the matter to the police who began the investigation, sources added.

Navsari police control room said that police investigation has been intensified to nab the culprits.
