3rd International BHU Alumni Meet from tomorrow
Varanasi, Jan 5 (UNI) Over 3,000 distinguished personalities from across the globe will assemble at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) here for the two-day 3rd International Alumni Meet of the central varsity starting tomorrow.
''Over 3,000 BHU alumni from across the globe will participate in deliberations on the university campus,'' BHU Vice-Chancellor Panjab Singh told newspersons here today.
The high-profile BHU alumni, who will attend the meet include Prof C N R Rao, Chief of Scientific Advisory Committee to the Prime Minister, reknowned astro-physicist Jayant Narlikar, former director of TISCO Jamshedpur Amit Chowdhary and Director General of Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) Mangala Rai.
The meet will be inaugurated tomorrow morning by Prof Singh, while national president of Mahamana Malaviya Mission Justice Girdhar Malaviya will preside over the inaugural function.
The speakers will deliberate over contributions of BHU and its alumni in the development of India, Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya's vision for social equity and women empowerment, new horizons in science and engineering, besides ethics and human values in academics.
