TN: Tight security for President Kalam's visit
Tiruchirapalli, Jan 4: Tight security arrangements have been made in connection with President A P J Abdul Kalam's arrival here tonight on a visit to Tamil Nadu.
The President is expected to arrive from New Delhi in a special flight at the Tiruchirapalli Airport tonight. After overnight stay at the Government Circuit House, he will leave for Chidambaram in a special helicopter to address the 94th Indian Science Congress and inaugurate the Children's Science Congress.
About 800 police personnel have been deployed in the city for the security duty. Bomb disposal squads will also be kept ready.
The entire stretch from the airport to the Circuit House has come under the security scanner.
