Three arrested for molestation and robbery

Mumbai. Jan 4 (UNI) Three youths, detained in a case of molestation of a woman at Gateway of India here on New Year's eve, were today arrested on charges of robbery.

The trio, including two minors, in their statement to Colaba police said they wanted to rob the lady of her mobile phone and did not intend to molest her.

After recording their statements, the police arrested them under section 34 and 379 of IPC.

The accused have been identified as Riyaz Sheikh (18), Abid Ali Mohammed Ali and Chandali Shah (both minors).

They will be produced before a Metropolitan Magistrate tomorrow, police sources said.

A total of five persons were detained in the case of molestation.

However, two of them were let off, sources added.
