Woman commits suicide in Shimla

Shimla, Jan 2 (UNI) An unidentified woman, reportedly from Punjab, jumped off a bridge near the Lift area here today.

The woman, about 25-years-old, was immediately rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical Hospital College (IGMC) in an unconscious condition with serious head injuries, IGMC, Medical Superintend Hardyal Chauhan said.

A CT scan was conducted but before the proper treatment could start, her condition deteriorated and she died, he said.

Though the exact identity of the girl could not be ascertained, it was believed that she hailed from Punjab, police said.
