Two criminals killed in encounter
Lucknow, Jan 2: Two history-sheeters were gunned down in an encounter in Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh.
Talking to sources on phone today, Senior Superintendent of Police B D Paulson said when the police intercepted some suspected persons under the Audyogic police station area last night, they tried to escape. On being challenged, they opened fire, in which sub-inspector Shyam Babu was injured.
In the firing, two criminals, identified as Chandrabhan and Ram Chandra, were shot dead. However, their accomplice managed to escape.
A large number of illegal arms were recovered from the spot.
The wounded police man was rushed to S R N hospital, where he was said to be out of danger.
