Sugar price declines on thin buying support

Mumbai, Jan 2 (UNI) Sugar price declined on thin buying support, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said today.

Prices of sugar in medium grade declined by Rs 12 per quintal while small grade remained steady.

Ex-mill small grade remained steady while Ex-mill medium grade sugar price slashed by Rs five per quintal due to poor demand.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,552/1,583, Medium grade: Rs 1,580/1,713 Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,530/1,545 Medium grade: Rs 1,555/1,620.
