Solar Activities Create Minor Glitch in INSAT-4A
Bangalore, Jan 2 (UNI) Services from one of the INSAT satellites, INSAT-4A, were disrupted for about 30 minutes today due to solar disturbances.
Indian Space Research Organisation in a release here said the disruption took place around 1600 hrs today. Due to solar disturbances INSAT-4A lost earth lock when one of the momentum wheels used for stabilising the spacecraft got switched off.
ISRO engineers at Master Control Facility in Hassan in Karnataka immediately took action to recover the earth lock and orient the satellite properly within about half an hour, ISRO said.
