Rain delays start of final Ashes test

SYDNEY, Jan 2 (Reuters) The start of the fifth and final Ashes test was delayed by half an hour because of heavy overnight rain in Sydney today.

Play was scheduled to begin at 1100 local time.

Australia lead the series against England 4-0 and need one more win to achieve the first Ashes whitewash since 1920-21.
